Pizzeria Neo Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. Most pizzas at Pizza Hut are high in sodium and hence you must stick to one or max. two slices of any regular size pizza to limit your sodium intake. Try out the salads as they are not only healthy but also keeps you full for a longer period. However, you must ensure that you don't order the salads without any extra dressing.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Went there tonight with my mom, sister and brother. We had read two articles in local newspapers and a few reviews online so we were expecting the food to be a bit more phenomenal then it was. My mom makes amazing homemade pizza with lots of fresh ingredients and so far there have been very few restaurants that measure up to her standards. This was yet another let down. First I'd like to mention that the hostess informed us that it would only be a 10 minute wait. We sat in their "lounge" area for over 30 minutes. The waitress was very polite and attentive. She did her job well. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer. You pick three types of bruschetta to be served. We picked the artichoke, traditional and prosciutto bruschettas. The artichoke was very good. It was piled high and tasted delightful. The traditional was decent, with the usual italian bread and heaps of tomatoes and seasonings. I didn't try the prosciutto one. We also ordered two pizzas. One Margherita and one Diavolo pizza. I only had the marghertia pizza and I was expecting fresh mozzarella, chunks of tomato and much more basil. What was served was "chef boyardee" tomato sauce, layered with cheese and one single basil leaf on the entire pizza. It literally tasted like Spaghettios or Chef Boyardee on a pizza. It was very bland, had no fresh mozzarella, no chunky tomatoes. I was not impressed at all. Especially for the price. The overall ambience of the place is ok. It's in a prime location in the newest part of the renovations taking place in downtown St. Charles. The inside could use a little more warmth however. It was very dark when we first entered. The pictures make it look much nicer then it feels when it's full of people. It felt overly crowded with ever table full. I suppose if you wanted to get some after work drinks or have a cocktail hour this would be ideal, but for an overall "Italian" meal this is definitely lacking in quite a few areas. I would rather stay at home and have my mom make her homemade pizza on her pizza stone. So much better. More taste and just overall more character in the food then this place offers.

I like this place. The menu is pretty simple and the food is all done very well. One of my favorite items is the cannelli bean bruschetta - yum! My wife and i tried a couple simple pizzas and each was cooked perfectly. We did try a meat and cheese board as well which was good. We sat at the bar and the service was attentive, friendly and made great suggestions. We will return.

The burrata is to die for. Probably the best burrata I've ever had. We also ordered the cheese and meat plate (we let our server choose and he did a great job). Pizzas we just ok - it was not crispy! I expected more since this is a pizza joint.

I organized my friend's bachelorette party here this past weekend, and once again, Neo impressed. When I came in they had a table set up for the 15 of us (although only 13 of us made it, but those extra chairs held presents well), preset with plates, champagne flutes, etc. The bride's dad had pre-order champagne for us, which was really nice of him, and so they promptly brought it over and poured it for us as members of our party arrived. Our server was great....she was on top of filling my water glass before I even realized mine was near empty, she never rushed us, and the food came out promptly. She also split our check into groups of 2 people, so that was extremely helpful...it also removed the 20% gratuity added to parties of 6 or more, so I hope everyone tipped her well individually. The bride and I split an order of bruschetta (I had the red pepper and half of the prosciutto), which was once again divine. We also split the Bianco pizza (12" pizza)...maybe the best pizza I've ever had. There was just the right amount of garlic, which was great - I was afraid I'd have to have loads of Altoids afterward, but it wasn't necessary. A few other people in our group ordered salads to split along with a pizza, but for me personally I don't think the salads are split-able. They look absolutely amazing, but they're not very big. The manager or whoever I spoke to when I originally set up the reservation a month ago was fabulous. I called again earlier in the week before the party to confirm, and the guy answered the phone "Hello?" And I had to ask if it was Neo...it seemed strange. Then I called back on Friday to confirm yet again (I was told I would be called Thursday night to speak to the original guy who would be taking care of setting it up on Saturday, but I never was). The girl who answered the phone was very nice, and then I spoke to this same guy again and he sounded a little irritated. But, it was a Friday night at dinner time so he probably had a lot going on. Aside from that, the experience was flawless, and the set up and service we got compensated for the awkward phone conversations. I will absolutely be back here...I love the vibe of this place and it reminds me of my favorite bar in Chicago. I do wish their bruschetta was a bit larger...the ones at my Chicago spot are maybe 33% bigger and 2 bucks cheaper, but Neo's are really tasty so I can't really complain for special occasions. I will absolutely be getting the pizza again, though.

I love this place for the Olivia pizza, the various bruchettas, and the sangria. They are all very tasty for your mouth and stomach. My only gripe is the atmosphere. The decor is very simple/sparse and dark. So it's not very welcoming. It's not uninviting either. It's just indifferent.

I've eaten here six times... Four times sitting by the pizza oven. Cool view and nice to chat with the dudes making the pizza or with the boss, Guy. I've had brick oven pizzas at a few places and I can't stand when the person workin the oven can't cook the pizza properly... most end up cooked on top with a soggy or too soft crust. Neo pizza comes out perfectly all the time! Appetizers are good sized and very flavorful. Drinks are mixed just right. Always had a good experience here and I leave stuffed!

This wasn't my first choice for dinner. When will I learn to follow my instincts. We walk in and the place is dead (530pm). The hostess seats us directly next to the front door. It was freezing outside. I ask her to move away from the door. She seats me at the other table next to the door. Seriously? I ask to move again and am finally seated away from the door. Not the best way to start. The menu is pretty limited. Not a huge deal for me, but I was with a picky eater. This is not the place for a picky eater. The wine list was impressive though. I also thought the prices were very reasonable. We both ordered pizza. They were good. Not great. Not bad. I've had better. I know they feel they are very authentic. Perhaps for the area, but if you are well traveled at all it won't live up to high expectations. It was all OK, but I wouldn't go back.

Home bound after recent surgery, I was looking for delivery, and this place is nearby, so it wouldn't take long. The gent who answered the phone was all-business, and took my order for a medium thin crust special (sausage, mushroom, onion and green pepper) and an order of Buffalo Wings. He gave me the price and told me I'd see delivery within the half hour. Sure enough, about 25 minutes later, my bell rang. The delivery guy was clean cut and very courteous, and obviously delivered that quickly, my food was hot! I started with the wings (I ordered the hot sauce). I've been led to believe that wings should not be breaded, but these were breaded, but were among the best wings I've had from a restaurant that wasn't mainly a wings joint. Just hot enough, the breeding was fried crisp, the chicken was moist and tasty. I'd consider ordering just wings sometime. Next, the pizza. The crust was good and thin, the way I like it, and semi-crisp. Perhaps the crust was a little on the tough side, but I still liked it. The dough smelled like some of the great pizza I remember when I was first introduced to it 60 years ago. I'm not sure if the aroma is yeast or what, but I was salivating before the first bite. The toppings were fresh and flavorful, and in good proportion. For me, both sauce and cheese were, I'm sure by the chef's choice were minimal, so next time I'll ask (and expect to pay) for a little more of each. One of the true measures of pizza for me is how the other half tastes cold in the morning. This was very good, almost enough to talk me into another half star, but I'll try a couple more times before I get crazy. Pomodoro E Mozzarella is located in a strip mall on West Main Street that has not brought success to many restaurants, I hope that this is the one that changes the wave.

It's just fun to sit at the pizza bar and watch the boys make your pizza. Interactive food experience. The pizza is amazing. Best ingredients. Right in the heart of downtown St Charles. I'm glad they have sustained a business. The place a few doors down gas changed over 3 times in 3 years. Neo's sticks to the basics. And excels at it. Authentic Italian style pizza. The carry out option is fantastic too. Especially if you have company. It's unexpected but sure to please. Who doesn't like their own pizza? Of course I always get the marinara because I prefer pizza senza cheese. Perfecto!

Nice Ambiance. Good food, fair prices. My favorites are the Salumi Bar (especially the speck and bresaola), the meatballs and any of their brick oven pizzas.

The bartender from Pub 222 recommended this place for dinner. We went for late night drinks and a dinner follow up of pizza. It was great, great wine pours and great pizza we had the Diavlo; perfect! The service was good and the decor pleasant. I am glad we made it. We probably should have gone for dinner and saved a couple hundred bucks! Lesson learned, We'll be back again someday..........

We come here at least a couple times a month for the following reasons: - Hip, somewhat urban atmosphere - Best Burrata I've ever had - Wide selection of meat/cheese plates - The once modest wine list is now expanded and admirable - Very good service - Central location for easy access to the rest of STC after - Pizza is tasty, although crispy isn't their style so don't be surprised Cheers

This place is pretty awesome. A few minor details (mostly regarding the cheese) would have made it a five star review. A group of 20 or so people, so we had a lot of food... We tried a little bit of everything and were NOT disappointed. The wine selection was amazing. The food was outstanding. It was definitely a win all around. We started with a meat and cheese board served with bread and garnished with grapes. We chose a variety of different cheeses (although the cheese lists seemed quite limited in scope-All of them were very much the same) Then we had bruschetta (YUM!) We again ordered a variety of different options to try, and they were pretty stealler. Our next "course" was meatballs served with some tasty bread to dip in the red sauce. Really delish meatballs. As if we weren't already stuffed, a HUGE selection of pizzas began arriving at our table. My favorite was the prosciutto and arugula (which I proceeded to eat for the next 3 days of lunch :) ) Aaaaand dessert: Cannoli in a martini glass? Yes please! Vanilla bean cheesecake? Oh heeeeellllll yeah! Overall a delightful gluttonous evening.

If you like pizza like they make in Italy, you'll love Neo. My husband loved the pizza in Rome, so decided to try Neo, and it did not disappoint! The pizza is simple without a lot of sauce (similar to Italy) with fresh ingredients. We ordered some cheese with wine as an appetizer and it was terrific! Love the seating by the brick oven too and the owner is incredibly nice and fun to chat with. Highly recommend.

  • Bernice R.

Good Pizza! Nice thin crust (crispness and flavor are spot on. I think its because the pizza is cooked in that open fire oven near the back). The sauces are also delicious and quite simply, the ingredients, you can tell, are really fresh. I tried their special one night. It was a white pizza with sausage, mushrooms, and a few different cheeses. The waiter did a really good job describing it but the food just spoke for itself. Yummy! The place itself is a chic lounge/restaurant with a nice and cozy atmosphere. Great for a romantic night out or grabbing a drink with friends. You can dress casually but people tend to dress up a little more during the evening hours. I've only gone during dinner time but I'm sure its much more casual during the afternoon. Places like these are helping St. Charles become a classy and fun downtown. Plus the location of the restaurant is really great. (It's within the "square" on 1st St. and close to the rest of the night life and river).

Me likes Neopolitan style thin crust pizza. Me likes bar seating overlooking open kitchen. Me likes piping hot fresh pizza straight out of the wood burning oven. Me likes Pizzeria Neo. Me wishes they were open for lunch. Another great addition to the St Charles Dining Scene.

We have gone here since it opened. Very fresh food, the best meatballs ever (meat and vegetarian). The service is always top notch and the food is amazing, the wine list is also impressive.

  • Stephanie H.

Huge, HUGE fans of this place! We usually go with a group of friends, and we've yet to have anything but a blast. Service is always good, as is the food and wine. We keep talking about straying from the brushettas and pizzas, but we haven't managed to do so other than the burrata. It's our favorite pizza by far in the Fox Valley. The wine list is nice, but nothing unexpected, which isn't a bad thing per se. Its where we go for a fun night with our friends!!

Forgot to complete this... Sit at the pizza bar and watch them make your delicious pizza right before your eyes. Drinks were strong, service was super friendly and the owner and chefs converse with you while they are whipping up pizza after pizza. I love the decor, the music and overall atmosphere. Might be OK for kids but they would ruin the vibe so leave them at home. Can't wait to get back.

The atmosphere, the food and the cocktails are all incredible. The service left something to be desired. Waitress was aloof and didn't put our order in to the kitchen until 10-15 minutes after we ordered. Probably the best thin crust pizza I've had in the area though. I'll be back.

Creative food, cool atmosphere, good service add up to an excellent experience. The wine list is decent and the staff usually has great recommendations. This is a great small group, casual, social night out kind of place. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Hubby and I stopped by here last night, and it was not a planned stop. We were actually walking to a nearby restaurant, and happened to walk past Neo. We saw people eating pizza, so turned to the left to go to Neo instead of going straight to our original destination. Great Choice. We decided to sit at the pizza bar, even though we could sit in the rest of the restaurant. The owner served us some of their olives from their appetizer menu. They were unique and memorable. We got two pizzas to share, and came home with one whole pie. The Margarita and the white pizza that was sausage and caramelized onion (the name escapes me). Both were good. It was interesting to see that your pizzas are finished cooking to perfection in 2 minutes. The owner was nice and social with everyone sitting at the pizza bar. Will definitely return.

Quiet night at the restaurant, and therefore it was particularly enjoyable. While I found the prices to be a bit higher than I would like- all of the food was delicious. We ate a cheese plate first- delicious and plenty of food, we split a trio of bruschetta- I particularly enjoyed the artichoke heart variety, and finally finished with the salsicia pizza which was delicious. Splitting all of these items between two people, we still had a slice to take home. The restaurant itself was lovely, with good service. I would definitely come back for the food again!

  • Maria P.

What a great, modern pizza restaurant. The bruchetta is delicious and they have many different kinds to try. They have a couple different salads and create your own- meat, cheese, and veggie plates to get as appetizers. They have a handful of pizzas, some with red sauce, some with the garlic and olive oil as the sauce. We also tried the spaghetti pizza which was almost like fritatta, I would recommend trying that as well as it's different. It looks like they have a decent wine selection and seating both on high top tables, around the pizza bar and some regular tables. I am definitely going back and I would recommend this place for people that like California style pizza. Each pizza is 12" in diameter, and if you get appetizers or a salad, just one is enough for two people.

  • Stephanie M.

The hubby and I went here on Friday night - we were actually heading to another new restaurant, but decided to stop here instead when the new place seemed a little empty....not a good sign for them. Anyway, we started with a few appetizers - the meatballs were wonderful!! Next, we split a Cesar salad....have to say this was just OK - I asked for the dressing on the side, but it did not come that way...kind of on the small side and over dressed - won't order it again, as there are too many other good things to order....lastly, we ordered a pizza - as others have mentioned - nice and thin crust - pipping hot and plenty for leftovers...also ordered a bottle of yummy Rose'. A truly enjoyable dining experience. We will be back in the near future - next time - starting with a cheese plate!!

  • Yogesh P.

I love this place, atmosphere, drinks, and most of all good, fresh, tasty pizza and appetizers. The only reason I've given 4 stars is the service is hit or miss. I feel the staff is sometimes clueless and service on a couple of occasions slow. This would not stop me from going there - one of my favorite places in Saint Charles.

  • Colin C. C.

We just had dinner at this restaurant. The waitress offered us a "special" on a ""nice" wine and my wife ordered it. It came in a small carafe, just a bit more than a single glass. When the bill came we were charged $28 for that wine. When we asked the waitress she could not explain why she did not quote the price, since it was so expensive. The manager was simply dismissive. We believe that this was deceptive and we will not patronize Pizzeria Neo ever again. If you chose to we suggest that you be very careful if any "specials" offered without a quoted price.

I love Neos, and I've gone several times. Their food is delicious and their lounge area is wonderful. The only negative, is twice we ordered appetizers and entrees and all the food was brought at once. I'm not sure if we had inexperienced servers, but it was fairly frustrating. That said, I love their pizza and they have a very good meat and cheese assortment.

  • Brian M.

Brick oven pizza, simple quality ingredients, awesome!!! Staff is very attentive and cute. Owner/manager came to the table twice to check on us. Ambiance is good, but could work on their music.

  • Mike L.

Really good food in a hip atmosphere. simple brick oven pizzas, great salads and several types if imaginative brushettas. My wife loved the burratta. This is a giant fresh mozzarella ball served with arugula crostini and specialty meats that you order with it. That thing is delicious. really good place. The staff is also gorgeous.

My girlfriend and I will eat pizza for breakfast, lunch & dinner. We really wanted to enjoy this place but a modern take on pizza just didn't work for us. The prices, even without alcohol, were enough to ruin the experience.

Too loud, expensive, and modern for my tastes.

  • Anne L.

Okay, the pizza was good, the deconstructed cannoli was amazing, and the wine selection was fun. The service? The gals (and I say "gals," because I only saw 1 guy in a sea of attractive female servers) were pleasant and amiable, but on the whole, a bit flaky. Their descriptions of the food were limited to "awesome." Oy. But they meant well, I suppose! So, I'd say read up on your wines before you go there or be satisfied with "yeah, it's good" for a reply. But otherwise, it was okay!

Great food and great wine! Authentic brick oven pizza with fresh toppings. There is a good selection of both white and red sauce options and a different special offering of both pizza and pasta each night. The bruschetta appetizers are excellent and you've gotta try the meatballs! They definitely give Mama a run for her money! Service is good and they even called the next day to thank us for coming in. I can't recall any other time where a restaurant has taken the time to call and say thanks for the patronage. That's a class act. Other restaurants should take notes. Well done Neo.

Went back again on Saturday and had to wait an hour for a table, but it's so worth it. The white pizza with sausage and caramelized onions is divine!

We had a date night here not too long ago and the pizza was amazing and very authentic. I can see why they carry an endorsement from Italy. They also had burrata which is a weakness of mine. And we tried their meatballs which were excellent as well. It can get busy on the weekends as its in a popular area but its well worth the wait.

I don't know if I'm eligible to write a review of this place yet sense I've only had drinks here but I shall update this after I eat here. This looks like a cool place and gives pizza a different presentation. My service was very professional and I'm looking forward to updating this review soon. Sorry, for such little information but I feel good about this place.

Awesome. Been there twice since they opened and had a great experience each time. On our first visit we had the Arugula and Prosciutto pizza which was unbelievable. The flavors blended perfectly. The second time, we had the sausage and onion pizza and it was delightful. Try the homemade meatball appetizer; as good as my Mom's. Comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff. Great addition to the St. Charles family of restaurants.

I've been there several times, and while I give the food a big thumbs up, the owners and service are lacking. The owner seated us, after an hour wait. He never welcomed us, and it seemed like he was irritated that he had to mingle and talk to the public. The wait staff were also extremely rude. I had questions about certain items on the menu and they seemed irritated. The pizza and appetizers are worth the wait. It reminded me of pizza in Italy. However, I'm reluctant to return because of the cold and unwelcoming environment.

Loved it again! Went back, and even better than the last visit. New pizzas added to the menu and they were fabulous. I still love the sausage and carmelized onion best. Tried the Burrata appetizer and it was a hit. Looking forward to our next meal there. Service was also very attentive and friendly.

It seemed like more of a wine bar then a pizza place. Of course that was fine by me. Food was great and we walked away from the place very happy with the exexperience.

My husband and I went to Neo's for dinner this past Saturday. We were very impressed! I'll start with the restaurant environment first, It was like a upscale, modern, romantic pizza place. Each table was lit up by Candle light. We had the option to sit at a table or to sit at the pizza bar, where we could have watched the pizza's being made. We choose to sit at a table. The place was completely full, however we only waited about 2 minutes to be seated. We started with a Brushetta appetizer, where you can pick up to 3 different types. We got the Traditional, (tomatoes, onions, etc), roasted red pepper, and mushrooms with arugula. The brushetta was fantastic!!! Then we ordered the Caprese salad which consisted of tomatoes, basil, mozzarella cheese and balsamic an olive oil drizzled on top. I do not like tomatoes, and I actually hate them. They were really refreshing. Then we ordered the white pizza, which consisted of mozzarella cheese, garlic and oregano. All the pizza is made in a brick oven, the crust was delicious!!! Not once were are glasses empty. Within seconds of our last sip we had a new glass, plates were never left on the table, as soon as we finished someone was there to pick it up. We were very impressed with the service and the food. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the pizza is pretty small, if we didn't order the appetizer and salad we would have had to order 2 pizzas. For the size of the pizza it was a bit expensive. With that said, the food and the service was so great that we will defiantly be going there again!

We went to Neo on a Thursday night, maybe. It wasn't super busy so we had a choice of table or pizza bar. We sat at the pizza bar and watched them cook and prepare the foods. If you choose to sit at the pizza bar, you should know that it's a bit warmer than the rest of the place because it's close to the pizza ovens. Our pizza's were good, not the absolute best, and yes, I could have made them at home like a few of the other reviews state. But, you need to know that when you go out to eat, you're paying for the food AND the experience/emotions of that time. The food and experience we had was worth it. Our waiter was nice, pizza's were good, staff was nice, and we overall had a good evening. Hell people, if you think you make the best pizza at home, then you should just stay home, make your own pizza and cozy up on the couch with your own $6/bottle glass of wine.

Most food could be made just as well at home, skimpy bruschetta but good, generous wine portions, pizza very good and fresh, diablo pizza not spicy, great prosciutto and speck pizzas great but skimpy toppings, staff was nice and attentive to needs.

Really???...I read about this place in the local paper and the picture of their wood fired pizza looked fabulous. I commented to a coworker...."looks as good as mine." I've been making homemade pizza for 30+ years and can say that I make a much better homemade pizza than can be had at Neo. We waited over 30 minutes on a weeknight. Ordered bruschetta...the traditional was meh....the artichoke was quite tasty....one other wasn't very memorable. Caeser salad was just ok. There are four of us dining because dad is out of town and we have mom and grown kids night out. The pizzas finally come.......one is Margherita..the other Diavalo.....my son commented that the sauce reminded him of spaghettios...I have to agree....where the heck are the fresh tomatoes? And really??? one leaf of basil on the margherita pizza??? Someone hasn't been to Italy...have they??? Our bill topped out at almost $100....granted, three of us had two glasses of wine each...the other had soft drinks. I was soooooo looking forward to this....sorry....big disappointment....if you want a good wood fired pizza....visit Acquaviva Winery in Maple Park....and you'll get some decent wine....for alot less than a hundred bucks....

Great atmosphere, pizza and wine. (Meatball app = amazing) We frequently come here on a Friday or Saturday night. GREAT for date nights! Recently a group of us went for a friend's birthday. It was a great night and it was nice because we all just shared some apps and pizza.

My lovely wife and I joined a group of our close friends at Neo to celebrate the September and October birthdays among us. It was the first time at Neo for the two of us, but some of our friends had eaten there before and gave high marks. We were seated comfortably in the large back room and our server was friendly and accommodating, explaining the various offerings on the menu. When I asked for my favorite Negroni to start, she didn't know what it was but was more than willing to try. I'll say that it's something she can now add to her mixologist book, particularly for a Neopolitan restaurant, as it was delicious and spot on, . We proceeded with the Salumeria platters, and mixed and matched and shared two large ones with the group. My favorites by far were the Bresaola dried beef (imagine dried carpaccio) with arugula and shaved pecorino and the Finocchiona 100-day pork salume with fennel, but everything we sampled was great. For mains, we decided on the Pizza del Giorno, thin crust with bianco sauce which featured house made sausage, white bean purée, fontina cheese and shaved red onions to which we added some crimini mushrooms. Bellissima! Others in the group had the spaghetti and meatballs, portobello ravioli and the polpetti, all drawing forks up reviews. All that wonderful food left no room for dessert unless we wanted to have a Mr. Creosote moment. We'll definitely be back.

Great spot for dinner and even just drinks and apps. Classic Italian themed menu but with lots of unique twists on the dishes you love. Meatballs, beef carpaccio, pasta of the day and best of all Nine! Different types of bruschetta! They also have a "salumi" menu where you can pick and choose from a wide variety of Italian meats, cheeses and veggies (choose 4,6 or 8) to create a unique platter all your own. It is Amazing! Last time I went, they were out of some of the more popular meats but I also went fairly late. I could (and have) only eat appetizers here and be extremely content, but focus of Neo is their handmade wood burning oven pizzas which all contain unique and delicious combinations of fresh ingredients for every pallet. During my most recent trip my friends and I ordered the burrata (fresh mozzarella that melts and spreads like butter! Yum!) which was imported directly from Italy, we added some meats and veggies from the salumi menu and everything was phenomenal. We sipped on the white sangria all night which they were also able to tailor for us so it wasn't TOO sweet. My one complaint would be the wall to wall tall windows! We were a little chilly so bring a sweater. Other than that, absolutely worth a visit.

Super yummy pizza and unique food, but portion sizes are small and overpriced. Nice atmosphere. Acceptable for a casual date night with walking and bars nearby if weather permits. Service/explanation of specials by the waitress was a little overwhelming, considering that the place is not very "high end."

I admit it. I'm an East coast pizza snob that dreads eating what Chicago calls "thin crust pizza" where the toppings are buried under the cheese and the pizza is but into these little mini-squares. It is an abomination! But I'd heard so many positive comments on Neo that I knew I had to give it a try. I ordered two pizza for takeout: the margherita and the sausage. I actually tried calling ahead of time on tow occasions, but the phone just kept ringing each time. Not a good first impression. So I went into the restaurant to order and was impressed by the wooden bar, low lighting, and the fire in the oven. People were dressed very nicely; for a pizza place, it's quite lavish. Now why the sausage pizza does not normally come with marinara sauce, I'll never know. I really enjoyed it. The sausage was sliced, not crumbled. The sauce was let, yet flavorful. And the crust is one you just have to eat all the way to the end. The margherita was quite good too. I'm not sure I agree with topping the pizza with basil before it bakes though. I didn't try the bruschetta or various Italian meats, but I am intrigues to return for those. Neo is definitely a place I would return to for some real thin crust pizza.

Went for my moms birthday and had the bruschetta, barrata, margherita pizza. The rest of my family also had the Salsicia pizza but I'm a vegetarian so I didn't get to try it. The bruschetta was delicious! Very light tasting and the tomatoes were perfectly plump and ripe. Next we tried the antipasti- barrata. Even better than the bruschetta! The creamy cheese with the olive oil and herbs leaves you wanting more. Although I did need to ask for more of the crostinis because I'm a carb junky. Finally I had the Margherita pizza. Delicious thin crust but would have wanted more basil. The service was also great. We went right when they opened on a Thursday and it was not too busy. Our server was attentive and able to substitute things if we needed. Overall great food, service, and good menu! I prefer a smaller menu over pages and pages of 'ify' foods.

Ok, I am generally very happy here. I still was, however, tonight, the carbonara dish ... i had to send it back. It was flavorless. I generally think of carbonara as creamy, and flavorful from pancetta, and flavors of cheese and spice. Pizza is great.... as always.

Pizzeria Neo is a great place to grab dinner in the heart of downtown St. Charles. It doesn't matter that maybe they love arugula a little too much; I'd definitely come back. A quick note on seating: If you want to grab a regular table (i.e. non-hightop or bar seating), you might consider calling ahead. We wanted a regular table, but the only one available was small and in a heavy traffic area. Thankfully, we had very good service to balance that out. We ordered the meatballs, carpaccio, and prosciutto pizza. The meatballs were tender and flavorful. The carpaccio was delicious, but it was bogged down by too much arugula. The prosciutto pizza was also good, and the saltiness on the prosciutto was just about what I expected: not mild, but not overly salty either. Again, though, there was an overabundance of arugula. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy arugula, but it did drown out some of the flavors in the carpaccio and pizza at Pizzeria Neo. The service, as I mentioned, was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive. Her service really made up for our small, cramped table in a high traffic area. I recommend this place if you're looking for a spot in downtown St. Charles.

This is my second review for NEO, and unfortunately it is a downgrade. While I still enjoy this restaurant and it's atmosphere ....I must say that management needs a little 911 help. When something happens negatively...deal with it head on. I wasn't originally going to write this review, however after discussing it with a few...I feel inclined. 3 of us had an early dinner on a Saturday evening in mid May. We ordered salads, and they came out quickly. After about 5 bites, I noticed something in my salad. I pulled out the biggest, furry dead moth. This thing had been dead a while, so I assume it came in with the lettuce supply. When I showed the server, he quickly took the bowl and our other finished plates, and stated that he would remove the cost from our bill. He immediately brought the lovely insect to the manager. Both looked at our table, and on they went with their business. Sort of ruins the rest of the meal....yes, the cost was removed from our bill. However, not once did anyone come and apologize or even acknowledge that we had an issue. IMO, that is lousy customer sevice and management style. I am not saying I wanted a handout....but a simple few words spoken would have helped! Will I go back? Probably not. Shame too!

They only take reservations for large groups, we only waited 15 minutes on a Saturday night at 7pm. They have a lounge area and wait or you can grab a drink at the bar. We ordered the polpettes, oliva pizza and prosciutto pizza. They were out of burrata at this point in the night. The pizza crust is great. The meatballs and sauce were mild flavored and very tender. I would definitely come back and order everything on the menu. I ordered another amarena manhattan while we were eating and it wasn't the same as the one I ordered at the bar. Not sure which one was the right one, because the one at the bar was really, really sweet, which surprised me. The bathroom is a one person bathroom, but they have some chairs in the back hallway for while you wait.

My daughter just got back from a semester abroad in Italy, wanted to get some good pizza. This was just the place. Been here years ago, finally decided that I'm making the drive to make this a regular dinner place. I think the simplicity of the margherita is the best. It's the best of pizza, not a greasy mess of processed cheese. Would love it if they added a few draft craft beers.

Still one of the shining stars in the dining scene here in St. Charles. The Pizza del giorno was the Spinacchi (no idea if that's how it's spelled). Spinach, speck, artichoke hearts, mozzarella, Gorgonzola. Excellent! Split a Caesar salad, enjoyed the warmth of the pizza oven. Service was impeccable! I still think the pizza's too thin in the middle, but man, oh man, that crust is PERFECT when you get out to the edge. If you haven't been here in a while, it's time to check it out again.

One of my favorite places to get a delicious pizza! Fresh and unique ingredients making it more of a real Italian pizza place. I'm a big prosecco drinker and their Amarena cherries they have for their cocktails are out of bounds tasty in a glass of prosecco : )

Delicious!! Went there on a Tuesday, it was quiet. My dinner date and I had two salads and split a pizza. Everything was great. I cannot wait to go back to try more. My only complaint was that it took me several trip around the block to figure out where the heck it was.

Neo is a great addition to St. Charles. The restaurant has a very casual yet trendy feel to it, with black leather chairs and bar stools, and beautiful tables with wooden tops. They have a gorgeous looking wood bar, and a nice counter at which you can sit and watch the pizzas being made in the oven. The U-shaped design of the restaurant means it doesn't get too noisy, which I appreciate. When it comes to ambiance, Neo definitely earns my kudos, though I do wish the restaurant would add some lights, as it often seems quite dark inside. As some reviewers have noted, the menu is not extensive - but really, when you're going to a pizza place, how many choices do you need? This isn't a diner, for crying out loud. They have a nice charcuterie option (a rarity in Kane County, is it not?) and some terrific bruschettas, including a funghi bruschetta that really tickles my fancy. The pizzas are good, but not as good as Cotto a Legna in Geneva. The crusts are usually a bit soggy when they should be crispy. I'm not a huge fan of the cheese they use on the white pizzas, and find that it tends to congeal after about 20 minutes, the way cheese does at most big chain restaurants. Their margherita pizza needs more basil, and I would prefer it thinly sliced, rather than tossed whole on top. But I have scarfed down many a pizza here quite happily, so please don't think I am telling you to avoid the pizza! I think the prices are very reasonable as well (more so than the aforementioned favorite in the area)! And you'll find plenty of parking in the First Street garage, located just behind the restaurant.

  • Kate H.

One of our go-to restaurants, LOVE! Their pizza is authentic Italian (like being back in Florence!), and their charcuterie platter and Berrata are to die for. Our no-fail is the Speck pizza, but all are delish!

  • Paula C.

The atmosphere was great! Service was awesome! The appetizers were really good. The reason this place is getting only three stars is that the pizza was just not that great. It was very soggy in the middle and seemed like it wasn't cooked all the way, the toppings were thrown on haphazzardly and not evenly spread around. Once you got to the crust you could tell it was trying to be great pizza. It was a Saturday night and they were busy, but that is no excuse for putting out substandard food. If you are going to call yoursefl a pizzeria then you need to concentrate on the pizza and make sure that everyone you serve is perfect. Not sure if I would go back.

I love this place, atmosphere, drinks, and most of all good, fresh, tasty pizza and appetizers. The only reason I've given 4 stars is the service is hit or miss.

There is a good selection of both white and red sauce options and a different special offering of both pizza and pasta each night.

Creative food, cool atmosphere, good service add up to an excellent experience. The wine list is decent and the staff usually has great recommendations. This is a great small group, casual, social night out kind of place. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Brick oven pizza, simple quality ingredients, awesome!!! Staff is very attentive and cute. Owner/manager came to the table twice to check on us. Ambiance is good, but could work on their music.

Charles.

I've been back here several times since my first review and Tony has done a great job with the place. I like the concept, atmosphere and of course the pizzas! Very well done boys!!

  • Michele K.

Perfecto!

Shame too!

Super yummy pizza and unique food, but portion sizes are small and overpriced. Nice atmosphere. Acceptable for a casual date night with walking and bars nearby if weather permits. Service/explanation of specials by the waitress was a little overwhelming, considering that the place is not very "high end."

My mom and I came here while I was home to celebrate my birthday. It did not disappoint. Really fun recent addition to that area of St. Charles. We ordered bruschetta: cannellini, funghi, melanzane & carciofi. Loved them all! And we split the salsicia pizza. It was a good choice too. The only thing I really didn't like was the white sangria. It wasn't mixed very well and tasted almost syrupy. Other than that, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and I would check it out again next time I am in town. I almost forgot! We also got the bruschetta and it was AMAZING. That was hands down my favorite dish. The cheese was so creamy and the bread was perfectly toasted.

Fun hip place to enjoy unique pizza. The Speck pizza with fresh arugula was great and so was the burrata, so creamy and delish. The selection of meats and cheeses are extensive so you can build your own charcuterie. If you like Pinot Grigio, try their own label, very crisp and light. Good for a crowd so you can order a little bit of everything.

Delicious!! Went there on a Tuesday, it was quiet. My dinner date and I had two salads and split a pizza. Everything was great. I cannot wait to go back to try more. My only complaint was that it took me several trip around the block to figure out where the heck it was.

One of our go-to restaurants, LOVE! Their pizza is authentic Italian (like being back in Florence!), and their charcuterie platter and Berrata are to die for. Our no-fail is the Speck pizza, but all are delish!

Nice Ambiance. Good food, fair prices. My favorites are the Salumi Bar (especially the speck and bresaola), the meatballs and any of their brick oven pizzas.

Ok pizza, not anything you cant get anywhere else. Rated 2 instead of 3 because of price. Its not expensive by any means, you just dont get good value for the $$.

Would have been 5 stars if it hadn't been for slow service. Food was great....we enjoyed charcuterie and cheese plate along with a wood oven baked pizza bianco. Will be back but please be a little faster!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
